The Nelson Leafs left little time for suspense or hope during Wednesday nights’ game as they drubbed the hometown Bruins 9-1 in front of a sparse crowd.

Nelson Leafs’ Adrian Moyls began the early onslaught less than four minutes into the game off a feed from Sean Muller, and the Leafs were off and running. The early goal was the first of five in the opening period alone as the visitors shut out the home team for a first period score of 5-0.

The Leafs stretched their advantage to 7-0 early in the final period before the Bruins’ Zachary Thompson would get his team on the board. Shawn Hochhausan would cap the night off with consecutive goals for the Leafs leaving the Bruins on the wrong end of a 9-1 loss. The Bruins will put this loss behind them and host the Golden Rockets on Sunday, Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. at the Grand Forks Arena where they hope to add their fourth win of the season.
