Police investigate early morning arson

On April 23, 2023 just past 6 a.m., RCMP are asked to attend a suspicious fire located at Donaldson Drive and 76th Avenue in Grand Forks.

Upon arrival, the fire was out, but a porta-potty located on the property was completely destroyed. The fire had spread to the outside wall of a trailer but fortunately did not go inside.

“This was a senseless and reckless act where the potential for someone to get hurt is present and where extensive property damage could have been sustained,” said Detachment Commander Sergeant Darryl Peppler.

“Thankfully neither happened in this case.”

Once again, if anyone has any information about this crime, please contact the Grand Forks RCMP or Crimestoppers.
