A young local family is still reeling with happy shock after winning Parent Life Network’s Canada’s Luckiest Baby contest, which comes with between $50,000 and $60,000 in cash and prizes.

Proud Momma Keahna Ingram, 21, won the contest after generating a ton of entries to the contest.

“It’s chosen totally at random, but the more you do, the more entries you generate, the better your chances,” said Parent Life Network communications director Ryan Bolton, after the surprise reveal Sunday at Millennium Park. “Keahna played it really quite well.

Parent Life Network started up in June of 2014, and this was their fourth Canada’s Luckiest Baby contest, with another slated to begin July 15.

“We love to give back and reward very deserving parents,” Bolton said.

Keahna, a veteran contest entrant, said there are some contests you just never expect to win.

“Never in a million years,” she said. “If there’s a contest, I enter it … but this … We’re kind of still in awe. It’s incredible.”

Of course, Keahna’s planning on sharing the booty with her spouse, Jacob Sekel, a 27-year-old millworker, their son, two-and-a-half-year-old Thomas Sekel, and Canada’s Luckiest Baby, their two-and-a-half-month-old Osheahna Sekel.

Prizes include a seven-day Mexican vacation for all four of them, a $20,000 RESP for Osheahna, $5,000 in cash, a 58-inch television, cellphone, tablet, fridge, stove and range hood, dishwasher, vaccuum, a $4,500 tech bundles from Rogers, a $5,000 Home Hardware gift card, shopping sprees with Osh Kosh and Fisher Price … the list goes on, and on, and on.

“It’s insane,” Keahna said. “I keep expecting someone to come running in and say, ‘you’ve been punked’, and take it all away. I don’t even have words to describe how much it means to us. It’s definitely life changing.”

Keahna has been entering the contest since roughly August – opting in to all the prizes, following the contest on social media and using the daily codes to get more entries.
