The Riverfront Centre Building Committee is pleased to reveal the drawings for the proposed new integrated Library and Museum during the Trail Silver City Days festival. The drawings, which highlight the exterior and interior architectural design of the facility, will be displayed on easels inside the main entrance of the Trail Memorial Centre (TMC), starting Friday, May 6 through Sunday, May 8.

“The design process has been very collaborative and responsive to Trail’s, cultural heritage and community pride while celebrating its industrial roots,” said Sam Collins of MMM Group Limited (WSP/MMM), the Riverfront Centre’s project manager. “The vision of this welcoming landmark facility takes a multigenerational approach to how the Library and Museum will provide a community living room that nurtures learning and gathering in a vibrant and safe civic heart of downtown Trail.”

The Riverfront Centre Building Committee and WSP/MMM have been working with Stantec Architecture Ltd. on the designs since February, 2016 and are thrilled to release them to the public during Silver City Days.

“The Committee is very excited about the new design for the facility,” said Riverfront Centre Building Committee chair, Councillor Robert Cacchioni. “We are very proud of how our city’s learning tools, history and future are portrayed within this new design and we encourage everyone to stop by the TMC to have a look.”

The drawings will be moved to Trail City Hall at the conclusion of Silver City Days where the public is welcome to view them Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The drawings will also be available on the City of Trail’s website, www.trail.ca, and Facebook page after May 8.
