Roof tops are dripping, sunshine is out, thoughts of summer are shining in!  We are excited to be celebrating our 5th Annual Christina Lake Homecoming Summer Festival  this  July 11 and 12 here in our beautiful community of Christina Lake. A new date this year, so mark it on the calendar the 2nd weekend in July as The Christina Lake Summer Homecoming Festival!

Friday evening will be at The Christina Living Arts Centre for a Volunteer Appreciation Wine & Cheese Social. A wonderful way to kick off our Festival and celebrate our community’s accomplishments over the last year. Everyone is welcome to attend. 7-9pm. Cash Bar.

Saturdays is the big event at the community hall with our pancake breakfast from 8 to 11am and our market from 8am to 1pm. There will be artists and artisans, musicians and performances, demos and displays.

Our layout for our event will be different from previous years.   We are setting up an outdoor stage to the back of the hall, called the “slab”.  We would like to have all vendors set up by 8am this year to coincide with the 8am breakfast start and will be ending earlier this year, at 1pm, as it gets so hot that time of year. There will also be 3 larger tents for vendors who don’t have their own tent. Vendors with tents will line the outside rim of the fence directly facing the stage.

We are trying to have most of our vendors together, and part of the festivities as much as possible. There will be vendor spaces at the covered front and back of the building as well. Inside the Boundary Historical Society will be putting up a large display, as well as a few other displays which are more suited for inside.

If you are a vendor which has a strong preference to be inside, or may need electricity, please let me know.  Also vendors who were in The Rose Garden, let me know if this is still your preference, I will do my very best to accommodate all your needs the very best I can.

Our theme this year is “Community Shines”. We encourage you to highlight any work that you do that reflects this. This year any vendor who highlights this will be put into a draw for a prize! So let your creativity shine! We invite you once again to be a part of our community festival and make it a wonderful event for all.

New this year will be a minimal $5/tables charge.  Each year we aim to grow our festival and this will help to make it happen, so thank-you all. We invite all artists, craftspeople, entrepreneurs, businesses, organizations, musicians, performers to showcase your talents, give demos, advertise, fundraise for your organization, inform & bring awareness. We want to showcase what our communities in our area have to offer and with over 1000+ attendees to our event, we want you all to succeed.

Please let me know if you would like to reserve a table for our market this July 12 from 8am to 1pm, or would like to book your stage time from 8am-1pm at The Community Hall and from 5 to 10pm at the main beach in Christina Lake. There are limited tables, so if you have access and are able to bring a table, that is always appreciated. If you already have a tent or require a space under the tent, please specify.

I will be in touch with all of you in the coming weeks to confirm your space at our 5th Annual Christina Lake Homecoming Summer Festival or feel free to email me to confirm your space. First confirmations have best chance of getting your ideal space as well as more advertising coverage!!

Mountain FM is on board again this  year and would like to do a series of radio shows about different artists and performers and organizations who will be at our event. A great opportunity to showcase our regions amazing talents!!

I look forward to connecting with you all and making this another great Homecoming Summer Festival!!!
