BUSINESS PROFILE: Body Edge officially opens

Body Edge Fitness is officially open after their grand opening Oct. 25 and 26.
The grand opening was held one month after they initially opened their doors and owners Al and Nancy Clark couldn’t be happier with how things are going.
“We have 199 paid members,” said Nancy, adding that they had about 100 non-members stop in and check things out during their grand opening.
During the opening they had Mountain FM broadcasting from their site, free admission to the gym for non-members and plenty of prizes and giveaways.
Al and Nancy feel that things couldn’t be going better for their business. Their membership is ahead of what they had projected in their business plans and they feel they have reached some personal goals.
When Body Edge opened, one of their main philosphies was to make sure everyone felt at ease when they came through the doors.
“We wanted everyone to feel comfortable and I think we’ve achieved that,” said Nancy. Part of their slogan is “a gym for every body” because they understand how hard it can be for some people to start a new workout routine.
By looking at their demographics, they have been able to attract members from all walks of life with the youngest member being 17 and the oldest in their mid-70s. They have members that come to the gym with a full range of goals.
“(During the opening) everyone was laughing while they were doing their workouts,” said Nancy,adding that everyone has given them really positive feedback so far and that people seemed happy. “It was a nice positive energy — really great to workout to.”
Body Edge provides a range of services including fitness machines, free weights, nutrition consultation and personal training. They have also just opened their shake bar.

Natasha St Pierre was chosen for the grand prize — a full body transformation. This prize was not in the form of a draw. Al and Nancy chose someone that really wanted it and was ready to work hard.
“You have to be mentally ready,” said Nancy. “She seems really excited.”
The body transformation includes a year-long membership, with a nutrition and workout overhaul. Body Edge will be tracking her transformation as the year progresses.
