Grand Forks Hotel in the final teardown May 2012
The burnt shell of the Grand Forks Hotel was torn down today, Monday, May 7 as passersby dallied to watch. Owner Bob Smith was emotional speaking before Grand Forks city council tonight when he was asked what would be happening in the future.
Smith said he’d like to rebuild on the site, but is immersed in the complications of dealing with his insurance company. At this time it is uncertain if the town will see a new structure in it’s place.
