Fibre artists gain a home
The Boundary Spinners and Weavers have a new home courtesy of an agreement with the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary. They have taken over a part of the buildings located with the animal control service on Donaldson Drive along with the Boundary Woodworkers who occupy the other half of the building.
On Monday, Nov. 22 RDKB area D director Irene Perepolkin presented the society with a $2500 grant-in-aid to assist them with renovations needed for the building. The society intends to make their location “a focus on fibre for the whole area,” says Mary Cadman, secretary / treasurer for the society.
The Spinners and Weavers will be hosting an open house on Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. along with the Woodworkers including displays and sales of their fine work.
