Christmas fun and festivities 2010
The Boundary region was busy with Christmas fun and festivities last weekend from Rock Creek to Grand Forks. Christmas Tree Light-Up at Deadwood Junction, Greenwood Greenwood residents met at Deadwood Junction on Saturday evening (Dec. 4) to watch Brody Walker light the Christmas Tree and listen to the Greenwood Elementary Band play under the direction of Ann Gould. Attendees enjoyed hot dogs and hot chocolate as part of a fundraiser for the Greenwood Elementary School and even Santa made an appearance. The annual event was sponsored by Deadwood Junction, McMynn’s and Doodlebugs. Rock Creek Craft Fair The annual Craft Fair in Rock Creek attracts artisans offering fine homemade gifts and Christmas shoppers eager to buy the wares. Karen Skaros of Oliver brought her Primitive Crafts which are made with distressed fabrics, spices and bee’s wax among other things. Tracy, who is known as the “Tea Lady”, had her teas on display including the well-named, Happy Man Tea. Barryman’s Harvest Jar had a table spread with preserves and dried vegies from their extensive heirloom garden located outside of Greenwood. I bought the sweet mustard and it is delicious!
