Christina Lake Winterfest snowy fun

Fifteen year-old Naomi Idler, left, and Kyra Hogan, 14, leaped into the water with a great deal of enthusiasm at the Polar Bear Swim. Kyra even went in a second time to try and find Andy Stefanelli's glasses, which he'd lost in an earlier dip. The event is usually held at the provincial park beach but because the beach was iced in, it was moved to the Christina Lake Living Arts Centre at the mouth of Christina Creek. Sno-much fun was had by all at the annual Christina Lake Winterfest this weekend.

The event ran from Friday, Feb. 3 to Saturday, Feb. 4. and included a wide variety of fantastic family events like the Polar Bear Swim, Sno-Pitch, a movie night, open mic night, children and adult games and great home cooked food.

First place in the Sno-Pitch tournament was Boundary Electric, second went to the Freakin’ Potreakin team and third went to “That Team”. Boundary Electric took home a trophy and beer mugs. Beer mugs also went to the second place team. The Grads of 2012 took home The Most Sportsmanlike Team trophy.
