The electricity went out in Grand Forks after a power line went down, June 19.
Metis Elder Greg Sterling and attendee Elizabeth Scow at the National Aboriginal Day celebration at Perley Elementary School on June 21. The event, which celebrates the cultures and contributions of Métis, Inuit and First Nations, was sponsored by the Boundary Métis Community Association, Aboriginal Success by 6 and the Boundary All Nations Aboriginal Council (BANAC). There were various games, crafts for sale, face painting, free food and drumming. The event drew in 82 adults and 52 children.
