RCMP make arrest in relation to firearms complaints

Grand Forks RCMP have taken a man into custody following numerous reports of a man in a truck allegedly in possession of a shotgun.

RCMP said in a media release that during the past few days, residents have made reports regarding a male in a black truck allegedly in possession of a shotgun.

RCMP said officers have been actively engaged investigating these allegations conducting multiple investigations and at 7:50 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27, an arrest was made.

RCMP said that that 43-year-old man for a multitude of offences including: multiple firearms offences; dangerous operation of motor vehicle; and uttering threats.

“The multiple investigations are still very active but we want to put the public at ease for now that this male is now off the streets,” said Sergeant Darryl Peppler.

“Much information has circulated on social media sites and we would also like to remind people to report to us immediately when there is a suspected crime.”
