Nelson Police: Warrant yields cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine & cash
Nelson Police said two individuals face charges after officers executing a search warrant seized a substantial amount of drugs at a residence in the 500 block of Ward Street Tuesday.
Nelson Police said in a media release Wednesday that the search warrant pursuant to Section 11 of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act resulted two individuals being arrested for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking pursuant to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
“Seized from the residence at the 500 block of Ward Street was approximately 3.5 grams of cocaine, 12.8 grams of fentanyl and 21.84 grams of methamphetamine with a street
value of approximately $6,374,” the Nelson Police media release said.
“Additionally, an assortment of prescription medication believed to consist of various derivatives of morphine and amphetamines were also seized.”
Nelson Police said the execution of this drug warrant coincided with Interior Health issuing a Drug Alert for Nelson due to samples indicating above average concentrations of fentanyl and
benzodiazepine along with xylazine.
