BC RCMP Serious Crime Unit investigating fatal shooting near Grand Forks
Grand Forks RCMP said BC RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit is investigating a fatal shooting on Granby Road.
RCMP said the investigation happened after frontline officers with the Grand Forks RCMP responded to a report of a man being shot inside a rural residence on Granby Road on Sunday, On April 16th, 2023, at 2 a.m.
RCMP said when police and BC Ambulance Service first responders immediately began life-saving measures on a 33-year-old adult man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
However, police said the man succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.
RCMP said a 43-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene and has subsequently been released.
“Both parties are known to each other, and there is no risk to the public,” RCMP said in the media release.
“The investigation is currently underway by the BC RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit.”
