The BC College of Nurses and Midwives posted Friday regarding the outcome of an investigation into a Castlegar nurse.

“On July 15, 2022 a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNM and Sarah Jones of Castlegar, to address professional misconduct that occurred in 2021 arising from the use of her position, experience, credibility in public health, and her knowledge of the vaccination system to effect the fraudulent creation of four vaccine cards.

“The Registrant presented varied versions of events to the employer, witnesses, and the Regulator, and her conduct was deemed a marked ethical departure from the conduct expected of a nurse. “

The post went on to say Jones has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a limit and/or condition on her practice, including:

a. A suspension of her nursing registration for six months;

b. Remedial education in Professional Ethics .

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
