MLA Conroy assaulted, police requesting public information
Authorities are still unclear as to whether an attack on local MLA and BC Forests Minister Katrine Conroy Tuesday evening was random or politically motivated, a source close to the minister says.
Conroy was walking home from the Legislature Tuesday between 8 and 8:30 p.m. when she was assaulted, thrown to the ground and injured. She was subsequently taken to hospiital for medical treatment.
Conroy’s injuries are non-life-threatening, and she will soon be travelling home to the Kootenays to recover.
Anyone who has seen or heard anything regarding ths brazen and cowardly attack are urged to contact the Victoria Police Department.
