Want Better Health Care? Have Your Say.
The Centre for Rural Health Research wants to hear from YOU.
To provide useful evidence for health care planning in BC, the “Rural Evidence Review Project” is seeking input from everyone who cares about the quality of health care in our rural communities, and has ideas about how to improve it.
The project is led by Dr. Jude Kornelsen at the Centre for Rural Health Research, in the Department of Family Practice at the University of British Columbia.
Contributing to the project is easy – there’s a short survey with simple questions. The hardest part is reading the lengthy introduction to the survey.
The survey simply asks people to give some basic demographic information, then asks us what we think are the most important health care priorities in our communities. The information is given anonymously – no one is asked to identify themselves. The survey is open for the rest of this year, but why not fill it out before we forget?
Once the researchers have had an opportunity to analyze the results of the survey, they will present what they have learned to the policy-makers and health administrators in BC.
Find and fill out the survey at: bit.ly/ruralevidencereview
Anyone who wishes to give more input than the brief survey allows also has the option of arranging for a confidential telephone interview with the research team. Individuals who are interested in participating in an interview should email the project’s Coordinator, Christine Carthew, directly at: christine.carthew@ubc.ca or by telephone at 1 (604) 827-2193.
People also have the option of joining a Rural Citizen Advisory Committee – just respond to the question at the end of the survey.
