Nelson men arrested by Castlegar cop for Warfield robbery
Two Nelson men are facing charges after a break-and-enter at a liquor store in Warfield, having been arrested by a Castlegar RCMP member, according to Trail top cop Sgt. Darren Oelke.
He said the call came in at 3:42 a.m. Monday, from a resident who had heard suspicious noises and witnessed the suspects carrying merchandise out of the store.
“With a description of the vehicle, a Castlegar member was able to go up to Hwy 3B, stop the vehicle and arrest the occupants at 4:10 a.m.,” Oelke said.
A 39-year-old man and a 21-year-old man were arrested. The 21-year-old was since released, to appear before the court on July 5, while the 39-year-old remains in custody.
Both are facing charges of break-and-enter and theft over $5,000.
