RDKB issues Precautionary Boil Water Notice for Christina Lake Utility
As a precautionary measure, the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary has issued a boil water notice beginning Thursday (April 26, 2018) for all users of Christina Lake Water Utility until further notice.
The RDKB said the reason is due to positive water sample from the water system.
“Water users in this area are advised to boil water before using it for drinking, making ice, cooking, washing food or brushing teeth,” the RDKB said in a media release Thursday.
“Use a hand sanitizer after washing hands.”
The RDKB suggests:
- Bring water to a rolling boil for at least one (1) minute
- Use an alternate, safe source of water
The RDKB asks the public to spread the word and share this news with neighbours, especially those members of the public who may not have received this notice directly, for example:
- People in apartments
- Rental Units
- Nursing homes
- Schools
- Pre-Schools
- Churches
- Businesses
