Road crews are busy performing some rock work west of Grand Forks.

Drive BC said the work of removing rocks jutting out at various sections along Highway 3 to improve safety and visibility, is being done 10.5 kilometers east and west of the Boundary City from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“This is proactive work will also increase the width of our ditches for snow storage during winter months, reducing the need for highway closures due to avalanche deposit,” a Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure spokesperson said.

We anticipate this work will be ongoing for the next two weeks, and ask motorists to reduce their speeds and use caution when travelling through these work zones.”

Highway is reduced to single-lane, alternating traffic.
