Name of burned body released by RCMP

The RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit has confirmed the identity of the remains found in the trunk of a burnt out vehicle left abandoned and ablaze on Hwy 22 on Jan.14.

Following the completion of a forensic examination of the remains found in a vehicle near Trail, the RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit and Trail and Greater District RCMP have confirmed the identity of the remains as those of 38-year-old Jordan Workman of Castlegar. RCMP investigators in conjunction with the BC Coroners Service have also determined that Workman’s death was a homicide.

The current findings indicate that this incident involves a targeted victim and does not reflect any increased safety risks to the public,” said Cpl. Dan Moskaluk.

Police are continue to seek public assistance with this investigation. Members of the public with information are asked to call the Trail and Greater District RCMP Detachment at 250-364-2566.
