Woman rescued from river after jumping from bridge
A woman who jumped off Trail’s Victoria Street Bridge into the Columbia River Saturday was pulled from the water by the River Rescue Boat, according to Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue Cpt. Jason Milne.
He said the call came in at 3:17 p.m., and three Trail firefighters were on scene with the boat by 3:27 p.m.
“The boat retrieved the patient near Glenmerry and transported her to the boat launch, where she was transferred to the care of (BC Ambulance Service),” Milne said.
A later interview saw KBRFR Cpt. Greg Ferraby confirm that the woman was very cold, but uninjured.
