The Trail and Castlegar RCMP Crime Reduction Units have been working on a drug investigation into the trafficking of drugs in both cities, according to a press release issued Wednesday by Trail top cop Sgt. Darren Oelke.

“On Dec. 15, the investigation led CRU members to arrested a 47-year-old male and a 36-year-old female in East Trail,” Oelke said. “A significant quantity of several different types of drugs were seized during the arrest. Both accused were released from custody to appear in court in Rossland on March 8, 2018.”

He said it’s possible the drugs were methamphetamine, fentanyl or possibly heroin.

He said police will be forwarding charges for Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking against the two Trail residents.

“Please report any suspicious activity that you feel is associated to drug trafficking to your local police.”
