National Aboriginal Day Celebration comes to Boundary

Boundary Aboriginal Community hosting a National Aboriginal Day Celebration in Grand Forks and Rock Creek, Wednesday, June 21.

The Grand Forks event is scheduled for City Park beginning at 12:30 p.m. with Children’s Crafts and Storytelling.

Between 5:30-6:30 p.m. there are traditional food sampling as well as live entertainment by and Inuit Throat Singer, Fiddler and Dancers.

Boundary Aboriginal Community is asking people to bring a drum to be part of the 500 Drums in Grand Forks City Park at 6:30 p.m.

“We’re inviting all nations, all genders, all people, the Boundary Aboriginal Community said. “Everyone with a willingness to participate in a good way in a spiritual drum circle and prayer.

Meanwhile, in Rock Creek, the day begins at 10 a.m. with children’s crafts, food and entertainment at 11:45 a.m.
