The latest forecast for the Granby River  shows river levels lower than this year’s peak.

RDKB reactivated our Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) yesterday in reaction to the forecasted Granby, West Kettle and Kettle River levels.

“This morning, the forecast models have been reduced to levels below those experienced in early May,” the RDKB release said.

“With low call volumes to the EOC and lower forecasted river levels, we do not anticipate being open after today.

The RDCK is advising the publicl to be extremely cautious around moving water as banks are unstable.

If assistance is required, call 1-888-747-9119 for sandbags and sand or 1-800-663-3456, the 24 hour Emergency Management BC Coordination Centre.
