Robots Making Their Way to Selkirk College for RoboGames

The Fifth Annual RoboGames is making the trek from the Heritage City to the Selkirk College Castlegar Campus Gymnasium Saturday (April 29) as more than 80 young people from across the West Kootenay and Boundary region arrive to create and compete.
The RoboGames were formerly held at the Tenth Street Campus in Nelson for the past few years, but is now going more central to attract more competitors.
The event, aiming of promoting science and technology learning, is a partnership between Selkirk College and the Nelson Tech Club.
In 2010, KAST (Kootenay Association for Science & Technology) and the Nelson Tech Club joined forces with six Kootenay Boundary middle schools in holding the first Annual Robogames.
Twenty-four students, aged 12 to 17 created the robotic entries which battled for robotic supremacy.
In 2016, we’re hosting nearly 40 teams and over 80 participants in our largest, most ambitious event to date.
The event is expected to grow again with the games now heading to Selkirk College Castlegar.
