Time Change Weekend — Time to Fall Back

To Time Change, or not to Time Change . . . that is the question.
The first Sunday of November has been designated as the end of Daylight Savings Time in most places.
However, for people wanting to not change at all, there’s a resident in Kamloops has started an online petition to stop Daylight Savings Time.
Robert Dieno has received an astounding 26,490 signatures on the “Stop the time Change in BC” petition.
Dieno is now asking the BC Government to make this a referendum question in the May 2017 May provincial election.
“We would like to stop this practice and remain on one time all year long,” the website said.
“Preferably staying on DST all year long but are obviously open to whatever the British Columbia Government and residents would prefer.”
However, there’s nothing stopping the change for 2016 as Sunday at 2 a.m., most of the country returns to standard time.
The exception to the rule is Fort St. John, Charlie Lake, Taylor and Dawson Creek and Creston in B.C. and most of Saskatchewan.

On the first Sunday in November areas on Daylight Saving Time return to Standard Time at 2 a.m. local time.
Time zone names and abbreviations in Canada change during Daylight Saving Time. Eastern Standard Time (EST) becomes Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), and so forth with each time zone.
Every time the time changes, there are hazards associated with the shift of the clocks.
