Man expected to make recovery after stabbing Monday in Kaslo

A 68-year-old local man is expected to make a full recovery after being stabbed Monday afternoon in Kaslo said RCMP Sergeant Monty Taylor in a media release.

Taylor said incident happened at approximately 5:20 when Kaslo RCMP responded to a disturbance between two makes on C Avenue in the North Kootenay Village.

Taylor said when police arrived, the 68-year-old male was found with stab wounds to his upper torso.

“The victim was transported to Kootenay Lake Hospital by EHS, and later to Kelowna Hospital for further care to his injuries,” Taylor explained.

“He is expected to make a recovery.”

“A 62-year-old male resident of Kaslo has been taken into custody and is awaiting a bail hearing,” Taylor added.

Taylor said both males were known to each other.

He said Kaslo RCMP and Kootenay Boundary Regional General Investigative Section continue to investigate the incident.
