Life in the Boundary: Then and Now, was the theme for the 106th Grand Forks Fall Fair.

The fair is a survival story after struggling for years due to a lack of volunteers and then being cancelled last year because of surrounding forest fires. This year, volunteers rallied together to put on a full three days of classic rural entertainment with fan favourites like watermelon eating contests and zucchini races.

Live entertainment came from Uncle Chris the Clown’s reliably funny antics, Nathan the Magician’s (Nathan Vogel) tricks, the Laughing Loggers and Yukon Dan (Dan Moore) gold panning. Live music included the Westbenders and Undercover. A parade marched through town at 9 a.m. Saturday morning.

More to come…
