Suspicious death sparks investigation near Chase
The RCMP Southeast District Major Crimes Unit are now investigating the death of a woman who was found deceased in a Lee Creek area residence on Friday evening. Investigators are treating the death as suspicious.
At around 21:46, on Friday evening Nov. 28, the Chase RCMP responded to report of a possible shooting at a residence in the 2500 block of Squilax Anglemont Road in Lee Creek, west of Chase, B.C. A deceased adult female was located inside the residence upon police attendance.
An adult male remains in police custody following his arrest at the residence last night. Investigators are continuing their efforts to locate and advise next of kin. RCMP investigators are still on scene today and are continuing their examination of the location in coordination with the BC Coroner Service.
No public safety issues exist as a result of this matter. Investigators are unable to disclose any further details with respect to this investigation at this time.
