Someone came into the library today to get a library card. It took us about 2 minutes to issue her one – and she said if she’d have known it was that easy, she would have gotten a card a long time ago!  So I just want you all to know: it’s that easy. No, seriously, it is. And it’s free. If you don’t have a library card, you ought to get one. I’m biased, sure – but ask anyone else who has a library card, and they’ll probably confirm that it’s the best deal in town.

NFB Film Night

We’ll be screening the NFB documentary “Out of Mind, Out of Sight” on Thursday, May 7 at 6:30 pm. It’s an in-depth look at the lives of four residents of a mental health institution, as they prepare for their reintegration into society. Popcorn will be served!

Fabulous Friday

Come to the library on Friday, May 8 from 2 to 3:30 for a fun-filled time – we’ve got crafts, board games, chess, and lots more! All ages welcome.

Brain Foods

Registered Holistic Nutritionist Natasha Kuralesova will be presenting a talk on Brain Foods on Thursday, May 14 at 6:15 pm. You’ll learn how to improve cognition, memory, and intelligence through your food choices – and help develop your concentration and mental acuity.

All you fans of Lego, we’ll see you here for our next Legoland day: Friday, May 15 from 2 – 3:30 pm. Don’t miss out on our bounty of building blocks!

Let’s talk about…

…gardening! Join local expert Val Rich on Thursday, May 21 at 6:30 pm for another of her wonderful informal discussions on all things gardening.

Summer Reading Club

And a reminder: any youth (ages 16-30) that want to apply to work at our Summer Reading Club should submit a resume and cover letter by May 12 – the job posting can be found  on the library website.
