LIBRARY MUSINGS: Let's talk Spanish classes, Easter and chickens
It’s that time of year, folks – time for another of our massive Book Sales! Our Spring Book Sale will be held on Thursday, April 9 (10 am – 8 pm); Friday, April 10 (10 am – 5 pm); and Saturday, April 11 (10 am – 2 pm). Organized and run by our fabulous Friends of the Library group, this sale will include a tremendous amount of books (and yes, you can donate books for the sale anytime between now and then). All sales are by donation, and funds will go towards supporting the library.
Spring Break
As I mentioned last time, we’ve got some Spring Break activities here at the library that you won’t want to miss. On Thursday, March 26, from 2 – 3:30 pm, we’ll be having a T-Shirt Make and Take, where you can decorate a t-shirt to take home (bring your own, or have one of ours). All materials will be provided. And on Friday, March 27, from 2 – 3:30 pm we’ll be bringing out our bins of Lego for another of our popular Legolands!
Let’s talk about…
…chickens! Why the heck not? Come to the library on Thursday, March 26 at 6:30 pm for an informal discussion on all things chicken. Whether you’ve got a handful of backyard hens, or a flock on your acreage, you’ll find lots to learn.
On Pollinators
Join us on Thursday, April at 6:30 pm for a talk on all the ways in which you can attract and keep pollinators in your garden. Adele LaRiviere (butterfly wrangler and breeder) and Grazyna Manturzyk (horticultural therapist and agricultural scientist) will be here to lead a discussion on butterflies and pollinators. Learn about pollinators in the area, and how you can create a butterfly garden. Bring a perennial plant if you want to participate in a plant exchange.
Hablas Español?
If so, come to the library on Tuesday, April 7 at 6:30 pm – we’ve started a Spanish Conversation group, and you’re welcome to join. It’s a great opportunity to work on your Spanish speaking skills, and meet others who share that interest.
Easter Holiday
The library will be closed on Friday, April 3 and Saturday, April 4. Happy Easter!
