Grand Forks City Council has hired Doug Allin to fill the position of Chief Administrative Officer for the City. Allin served the community as CAO from 2012-2014 and has an extensive career working in Local Government.

Allin brings over twenty years of experience in Public Works and Operations and over the past two years moved the City of Grand Forks forward operationally, and from a development perspective.

Council voted in favour of offering Allin the position at the Feb. 10th, In-Camera meeting. Allin commented that “he was delighted and a little shocked when he received the offer to return to the CAO position, but considered it because he had already invested two and half years in the organization and community”.”

The City received over forty resumes for the position, with most coming from out of province. Council commented that “Allin’s name was put forward as someone with experience, and who knows the community as well as the organization.

Because of the City’s past relationship with Allin the organization will move forward immediately, he is extremely knowledgeable with the direction, projects and staff of the organization.”

Allin will begin work on Monday, Feb. 16th and “is looking forward to working with the current Council and staff, taking the organization to the next level.”
