You are cordially invited to attend the 2nd Annual Downton Abbey Tea Party – to be held at the library on Saturday, February 28 at 2:00 pm. Building on last year’s wildly successful event, we’ll be having a costume parade with prizes, crafting corner, trivia quiz, photo booth, and a scone bake-off contest (if you’re wondering who gets to be the lucky judge, it’s not me – but Carson the butler, of course). Costumes are optional, but so much fun!

Adopt-a-Magazine

A great big thank youto all of those who have stepped forward and supported us through our Adopt-a-magazine program. So far the response has been overwhelming, with half of our magazines already adopted, either by individuals or businesses in the community. For those who are still interested in this opportunity  – it’s not too late to join in the fun!

NFB Film Club

Come to the library on Thursday, February 12 at 6:30 pm for a screening of the award-winning NFB documentary Everything Will Be – an intimate look at the transformation of Vancouver’s culturally diverse Chinatown neighborhood.  Popcorn will be served.

Sign Language

Our very popular drop-in Sign Language classes are back, taught once again by the wonderful Tammy and Leanne from Sunshine Valley Community Servcies. Come by the library on any given Thursday (until March 26) from 1- 2 pm.

Fabulous Friday

We’ve got another of our Fabulous Fridays coming up – it will be on Friday, February 13 from 2:00-3:30. We’ll have our usual array of board games, crafts, puppets, chess, and more. All ages welcome – children under 7 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver

Lego Madness

We’re starting to think that you only love us for our Lego! We’ll be bringing the bins out on Friday, February 20 from 2 – 3:30 pm. All ages welcome.

Wining and Whining

Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Wednesday, March 4 at 7 pm – but this will be no ordinary AGM, fear not. There will be wine, and there will be cheese. And a little bit of talking. But not too much.
