LIBRARY MUSINGS: Kids Knit; No late fees in 2015 (again)
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and our library’s board of directors is getting in the holiday spirit – at this month’s board meeting, they passed a motion to extend the 1-year “no overdue fines” trial period for a second year. If you’re late to the party, let me get you caught up: for 2015 (as in 2014), we will not be charging overdue fines for any items (books, DVDs, magazines, etc) that are returned late. We will, however, still ask you to pay for anything you lose or damage.
We hope that you will continue to be considerate of those who are waiting, and keep returning your items back on time.
Kids Knit
Calling all kids! We’ll be starting a brand-new knitting program for kids on January 8. It’ll run on Thursday afternoons from 3:45 – 5:15 (for those in grades 4 and up). All materials provided free of charge.
Storytime
Join us for our weekly winter storytimes – every Fridays at 10:30 am. We’ve got rhymes, songs, stories, and felt boards. All ages welcome!
Meeting Room
Just as a reminder – we’ve got a meeting room in the back of the library that we rent out to the public. Rates for non-profits and community groups are $10 for 4 hours or less (rates differ for for-profit groups, government organizations, etc.). We do bookings for one-off meetings, as well as regularly scheduled meetings. Call us at 442-3944 to inquire about rates and availability.
Holidays
The library will be closed on December 25 and 26, and on January 1. Happy Holidays!
