Despite the cancellation of Winterfest, the Christmas season is alive and well in Castlegar – for example, today, the Castlegar Fire Department picked up toys from the Grade 2 classes at Kinnaird Elementary School. The children raised money via bake sales, etc.and then purchased toys and donated them to for the Castlegar Firefighters toy run. The Castlegar Fire Department’s toy run is this Saturday at A&W.

Meanwhile, the Pass Creek Exhibition Society and Dirty Diggers are sponsoring a Christmas in the Park event on Dec. 20 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There willl be live music, games and hayrides, as well as a chance to share your Christmas list with Santa.

There will also be free bussing from the Complex and the Museum, provided by Mountain TRansport Institute.

Entrance is free, but donations are welcome.

Anyone else hosting Christmas events is invited to post details in our events section or on The Source Facebook page.
