It takes a community to raise a tractor

After two years of volunteer effort and support, Phoenix Mountain put into service this past fall, an Italian-made four-wheel drive centre articulating machine designed for steep slopes.

The tractor was donated to Phoenix Mountain by Steve Buzikievich of Summerland and although it didn’t have a motor, one was found in Bonnington B.C. thanks to Tom Brach, who is a parts dealer for European tractors.

The Phoenix Mountain Alpine Ski Society (PMASS) wants to thank and acknowledge the following people that helped the project come to fruition – RDKB area “D” (Irene Perepolkin), RDKB area “E” (Grace McGregor), RDKB area “E” (Bill Baird), Don Colclough, John Malins, Ray Pavan, Tom Brach, Len Bannert, Dave Morgenstern, Kooteney Car Care, Von Theisen Industries, Tool Time, Lordco Auto Parts, Boundary Electric, and Doug’s Auto who all donated freely to this project.

As you can see from the submitted pictures the hill has been brushed by the tractor and also hand brushed by our dedicated volunteers.

We are looking forward to a great season again this year. Think snow!
