Area D is in the process of reviewing their Official Community Plan – part of this process involves collecting information from local residents. We’ve got a large map set up in the main reading area of the library, and we’d like to invite you to come in and indicate on it any routes that you use for non-motorized travel from home to work or other destinations. We’ll have it set up for the next few weeks, so you can drop by anytime.

And now, here’s what’s going on at the library:

NFB Film Club

We’ll be screening the NFB documentary “The Wings of Johnny May” on Thursday, November 12 at 6:30 pm. It’s the story of the first Inuit bush pilot in Nunavik – a legend who has watched from above as the Inuit transformed from living a nomadic life to sedentary one, and as climate change has melted the permafrost. Popcorn will be served!

Legoland

All you fans of Lego, we’ll see you here for our next Legoland day: Friday, November 21 from 2 – 3:30 pm. We’ve got every kind of Lego block you’ve ever imagined!

Book Club

Our November book club choice is “Outliers” by Malcolm Gladwell – a fascinating look at what makes some people successful. We’ll be meeting on Wednesday, November 26 at 1:30 pm at the Christina Lake Living Arts Centre, and on Thursday, November 27 at 7:00 pm at the library. Newcomers are welcome – just drop by the library anytime to pick up your copy.

Teen Knitting

Drop by and check out our teen knitting group – we’ll be meeting Thursday afternoons from 3:30 – 5:00 pm, from November 6 to December 18. All materials are provided!

‘Tis the Season

Mark your calendars – our 14th annual Festive Family Storytime will be held on Thursday, December 4, from 6:30 – 7:30 pm. We’ll have storytellers, musicians, snacks, and of course a visit from a very special someone…
