LIBRARY MUSINGS: Author Grant Lawrence coming, conversation about chickens, etc.
Being a library and all, lending things out is our speciality. Which is why this Halloween we’ve decided to put out our bins of costumes and let you dig through them. Once you find the right one, you can borrow it for all your Halloween fun.! The big day is Saturday, October 18, from 2:00 – 3:30. Drop by and see what you can find (and at this point, we only have kids costumes – sorry, parents).
Christina Lake
We have new hours for our Christina Lake service on Wednesdays – we will now be at the Living Arts Centre from 10 am – 3 pm.
Poetry Cafe
Our very own Grand Forks Writers’ Guild will be hosting their always-popular Poetry Cafe on Thursday, October 16 from 6 – 7:30 pm. It’s an open mic opportunity to read/recite your own poetry or someone else’s. Everyone is welcome!
Bears and Electric Fencing
Just a reminder that Gillian Saunders (Granby Wilderness Society) and Laurie Grant (WildSafeBC) will be giving a presentation and hands-on demo on setting up electric fencing on Saturday, October 18 at 10:30 am.
Chickens
Whether you’ve been keeping chickens for decades, or are interested in getting started, you’ll want to come to our informal conversation on all things chickens – to be held on Thursday, October 23 at 6:30 pm.
Lego Land
Yes, we know, you just can’t get enough of our Lego! We’ll be bringing the bins out on Friday, October 24 from 2 – 3:30 pm. All ages welcome (children ages 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult).
Grant Lawrence
And last, but most definitely not least, the award-winning author and CBC celebrity Grant Lawrence will be here on Saturday, October 25 at 2 pm – last time he was here, there was standing room only, so be sure to arrive early! And as a bonus, the talented musician Jill Barber will be here too with a performance.
