The Boundary Women’s Coalition (BWC) values the contributions women make to our lives and is pleased to provide a yearly opportunity to celebrate local women’s accomplishments.

We all know women who—by their actions, by the way they live their lives—make the Boundary Community a better place in which to live. They are more today than they were yesterday, they have made a significant impression and they inspire the rest of us. Celebrate the special women in your life with a nomination.

Since 2007, the BWC has hosted the Awards on March 8, International Women’s Day. This year we have decided to present the awards in October. Since 1992, October has been dedicated Women’s HerStory Month because it is the month in which Canadian women became “persons” under the law.

Another change this year is the addition of a new category – Woman of Distinction.

2014 Celebration will be held on Friday Oct. 24 from 7 – 9 p.m at the Seniors Hall in City Park, Grand Forks

The evening will include the awards ceremony and refreshments. You are welcome to attend, as are partners, children, extended family and friends. The local press is invited to attend and take photos.

You may nominate as many women as you want to. It is much easier for us to prepare the awards if you complete the nomination online. However, hand-written nominations are also acceptable – please ensure legibility – and can be dropped off at the Boundary Women’s Resource Centre — 268 Market Ave or mailed to PO Box 903 Grand Forks V0H 1H0
