Grand Forks Fire Rescue was called to 7590 22nd Street near the Grand Forks Hospital yesterday afternoon after a house caught fire.

Three engines and 21 firefighters arrived at the scene and took about 45 minutes to do extinguish the major flames.

GFFR Fire Chief Dale Heriot estimated the damage to be between $50,000 and $100,000 but adds that he can never tell what the insurance company will say.

The fire is not considered suspcious and Heriot gave it an official “undetermined” cause. When he spoke with GFTV’s Les Johnson yesterday, he said the fire might have started on the back porch.
