A highway resurfacing project on Highway 3, 13 km east of Osoyoos, has been awarded to Peter’s Bros. Construction Ltd. of Penticton.  This $2.3 million contract will result in improved roads in the South Okanagan that are safer and smoother for all road users.

Over 8 km will be resurfaced along Highway 3 between Chapman Road and Wapiti Way; work is expected to begin in May and be completed by the end of August.

Highway 3 is an important link between communities in the southern part of the province, and this project will support continued economic development in the South Okanagan.

In support of the province’s sideroad network, this project also includes 3.2 km of recycled asphalt paving on various side roads in the Anarchist Mountain area, including Chapman Road, Deerfoot Road, Hallis Road, and Vineyard Road.

“Resurfacing this eight kilometre section of highway will benefit area residents, business and the community with safer roads and a more enjoyable driving experience,” commented Boundary-Similkameen MLA Linda Larson. “Local area residents will also benefit from the hard surfacing on side roads in the Anarchist Mountain area.”
