Crawford Bay man killed in avalanche while snowmobiling in Gray Creek pass
A Crawford Bay man died from injuries after being caught in an avalanche Tuesday (March 11) while snowmobiling in the are commonly referred to as the Gray Creek pass.
Creston RCMP received the call of a missing snowmobiler Tuesday.
Police were told two men were out snowmobiling in the rural area north of Creston when they were caught in an avalanche.
One male was able to make it out but was unable to find the second male.
Emergency crews, including Search and Rescue from Nelson, were called to the scene.
Rescue teams located the 29-year-old male from Crawford Bay, but sadly he succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
The B.C. Coroners Service has taken over the investigation.
