The days are getting longer, and the sun is starting to emerge from hiding – which means it may not be spring yet, but it’s definitely on its way!  If you’re thinking about spring cleaning, come check out our books on home organization and clutter-reduction books. If you’re dreaming of home renovations and woodworking projects, we’ve got a great collection, as well as several magazines, including Fine Homebuilding and Home Workshop and Canadian House and Home.

And now, here’s what’s going on at the library:

Board Game Club

We’re launching an exciting new program – a Board Game Club for teens and adults, every Friday from 2:00 – 4:30, starting on March 7. We’ll have tons of games here (not our usual collection – but fancy ones like Settlers of Catan, Agricola, etc), but you can bring your own favourite if you like.

Fabulous Friday

And also on Friday, March 7, we’ll be having another of our Fabulous Fridays! Come to the library for a family-friendly afternoon of activities (1:00 – 3:00 pm). Come for the Xbox 360 Kinect, the crafts, the snacks, the board games, or the chess. All ages welcome!

NFB Movie Night

We’ll be having a special movie night on Thursday, March 13 at 6:00 pm – a one-time-only showing of the NFB film My Doukhobor Cousins. It’s a documentary about three cousins who work to solve the mystery of their Doukhobor roots – featuring lots of locals, and some beautiful vistas of Grand Forks. Popcorn will be served – you won’t want to miss this one!

Spring Break

And here’s some more great news: we’re already gearing up for a fun-filled Spring Break! We’ll be doubling up on Lego Club (twice per week), and Nathan the Magician will be back for another performance. More information to come next time – or you can always check our website or give us a call.

Mother Goose

It’s official: mother goose will be back at the library starting on Saturday, April 26 from 10:30 to 11:15 am – and continuing every Saturday for 8 weeks. Put it in your calendar!
