Police appeal to public after break-and-enter costs local business thousands

Thieves have absconding with thousands of dollars of property from a local business, according to RCMP Cpl. Debbie Postnikoff.
“Sometime during the evening of Feb. 21 and the early morning hours of Feb. 24, a business located in the 100 block of Hughes Road was broken into,” she said. “Investigation has revealed that the rear steel door was pried open. Suspects gained entry into the business and stole a truck that was parked outside the bay area. The truck was loaded up with rivet tools, generators and various other expensive tools, and then it departed the scene.
“Police are looking for a 2007 White Ford F350 Crewcab. The truck has a tidy tank and dry box. There were no licence plates on it when stolen, however, there is decaling on the side doors that says “Maglio Installations and B40”.
“RCMP Forensic Identification Services attended the scene for examination. Castlegar RCMP continue to investigate the incident. There have been no arrests made to date,” Postnikoff added.
“We’re in the process of going over camera and video surveillance right now,” she said. “We’re hoping members of the public will come forward with any information they might have. In a small community, we really rely on resident input and tips from the public to help solve crimes like this.”
