UPDATED: Crescent Valley fire destroys home
Fire crews are now (as of 10 p.m.) mopping up a blaze that destroyed a home and took roughly 30 firefighters from four departments to combat.
Crescent Valley fire chief Glenn Leidloff says the cause of the fire is still under investigation, and it’s believed the house had only one occupant, whose current condition is unknown at this time.
Leidloff underlined, though, how very much they appreciated help from the neighbours, who brought hot soup, sandwiches, warm drinks and kind wishes, and expressed his gratitude for the assistance of neighbouring fire departments.
Previous story:
The Crescent Valley Fire Department has now been joined by the Beasley, Passmore and Tarrys Fire Departments in fighting what Crescent Valley chief Glenn Leidloff is calling, “an aggressive fire” in a two-story, single-family dwelling on Konkin Road.
He said the call came in at roughly 5 p.m., and the blaze was fully involved by the time fire crews arrived. He said no other structures are threatened, and he doesn’t believe there’s concern the flames will spread.
Leidloff was unable to provide any information regarding who called in the fire, its cause, or whether there were any residents present at the time.
“We’re still checking it out,” he said.
