Community groups work to build relationships

Boundary Region community organizations will be gathering on Thursday, February 20th for a day of partnership building and action planning sponsored by Community Futures Boundary  and SPARC BC (the Social Planning and Research Council of BC).

The day long event, entitled Strengthening Partnerships for Community Development:  A Day of Skill Building, Discussion and Action Planning is aimed at supporting the development of effective partnerships and collaboration both regionally and within individual communities. 

 “Working together to develop solutions to community problems can produce great opportunities as well as significant challenges,” said Sandy Elzinga, spokesperson for Community Futures Boundary. “This workshop has been developed to help our organization and others understand the basic principles of developing effective collaboration to address community issues.”

The event has been organized in partnership with the following organizations:  Community Futures Boundary, Boundary Country Regional Chamber of Commerce, SPARC BC, and Learning Initiatives for Rural and Northern BC (LIRN BC).
