UPDATE: Missing Boy Scouts on Red Mountain located

Two overdue skiers lost on Red Mountain Thursday have been found.
Search and Rescue located the missing skiers in an area west of Red Mountain resort just after 10 a.m. Friday.
The missing skiers were flown down the mountain by helicopter to the Red Mountain Resort area where they were checked over by paramedics just after 11 a.m. today.
The pair were reported missing at 4 p.m. Thursday by Red Mountain Resort.
The pair, both age 16, were part of a Boy Scout Troop from the state of Washington, USA that were visiting the resort for in-bound skiing.
Rossland Search and Rescue were activated and subsequently located tracks, thought to belong to the missing pair, on the back side of Grey Mountain heading into the Esling Creek basin.
Search and Rescue continued the search Friday using snowmobiles, skiers and a helicopter to assist in the search.
The skiers were not injured as a result of the ordeal.
Helicopter to be deployed in search for missing Boy Scouts on Red Mountain
Search crews are looking for two American boy scouts on Red Mountain today, after the duo got lost skiing yesterday, according to Trail RCMP Cpl. Dave Johnson.
“On Jan. 2, shortly after 4p.m., Red Mountain Resort reported two overdue skiers that had not reported in,” Cpl. Johnson said in a press release this morning.
“The pair, both age 16, were part of a Boy Scout Troop from the state of Washington that were visiting the resort for in-bound skiing.
He said Rossland Search and Rescue was able to find tracks they think belong to the missing pairon the back side of Grey Mountain heading into the Esling Creek basin.
“Search and Rescue is continuing the search today, Jan. 3, a helicopter has also been deployed to assist in the search.
“Further updates will be sent out when more information is known.”
