Trail RCMP foil getaway after armed robbery of 7-11 this morning
An armed robbery was thwarted this morning when police apprehended the suspect outside the 7-11 he had just robbed, according to Trail top cop Sgt. Rob Hawton.
“On Dec. 19 at approx. 5:15 a.m., police were called to the 7-11 in downtown Trail for a robbery in progress,” Hawton explained. “The lone suspect wielded a knife and obtained cash, and then was arrested by police outside the 7-11.
“After being taken into custody, he was transported to Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail, where he is currently receiving treatment, as it was believed he had ingested a quantity of drugs.”
Hawton said the 28-7ear-old suspect is not from the Trail area and is of no fixed address.
No one was injured during the incident.
