Hi Folks!

We’ve got some very exciting things happening at the library this month – from fruit detectives to interior decorating, here’s what’s going on:

Movie Night

We’re launching an NFB movie night series, starting on Thursday, September 12 at 6 pm with The Fruit Hunters. It’s a documentary that leads us into the underground world of exotic fruits, and the strange cast of characters that collect, cultivate, chase, eat, and obsess over them.

Sign Language

Back by popular demand! In partnership with Sunshine Valley Community Support Services, Tammy and Leanne will be providing informal, drop-in sign language learning sessions every Tuesday from 12 to 1. All ages welcome.

Book Club

Come pick up a copy of our latest book club book – it’s The Red Tent by Anita Diamant, which tells the story of Dinah (daughter of Jacob and sister of Joseph). A New York Times bestseller, this book celebrates mothers and daughters, with a compelling narrator and a riveting storyline.

Interior Design

Decorate your nest! Kate Bridger – designer, artist, and writer – will be making the trip down from Nelson to lead an informative and entertaining session about the traditions, taboos and eccentricities of home decor. The workshop (“Nest Building – A Guide to Finding Your Inner Interior Designer”) will be held on Saturday, September 21 from 1 to 3 pm.

And last but not least, here’s a list of…
